Kosava Balkan Women's Choir

Kosava Balkan Women's Choir currently numbers five women who bring decades of experience in Balkan singing styles to the group. Members of Kosava were founding members of Vecerinka, a Seattle-based women's choir under the direction of nationally recognized Balkan singing master, Mary Sherhart. Organized for the Radost Folk Ensemble Twentieth Anniversary Concert, the group is comprised of Radost alumni and other singers from the Seattle area. The group specializes in Bulgarian, Macedonian, Croatian, Russian and Bosnian vocal traditions, and plans to add Serbian and Romanian songs to their repertoire. Kosava can be heard on the Radost Folk Ensemble CD "Heirloom", to be released in September of this year. The choir is currently seeking new members and interested parties should contact Jody Rush, (rafkin@pobox.com) for an audition date.
